FAME Supports Veterans

FAME Corporations is proud to support our veterans’ community. We honor and respect the sacrifice and commitment these brave individuals have made not only protecting our great nation, but also protecting and helping those in need when called to action. FAME has also has had a call to service of its own. Since its inception, part of our mission has to been to help communities in need, those who have been marginalized by social and/or economic inequities. In the spirit of service, and honoring those who have served in our armed forces, FAME is proud to offer these programs helping those in our veteran community who are most in need. When our veterans were called to duty, they did not hesitate to serve. As such, when our veterans return home and are in need of our help the most, FAME is ready and willing to serve.

Meet Our Vets

We honor our men and women in uniform for their service, their courage and their sacrifice. FAME Corporations has long held that service is the highest calling – and service to protect one’s nation is a special and precious act. FAME’s overarching goal is to ensure the needs of all our veterans are met with consideration and dignity, to enable these strong men and women to overcome the spiritual, mental and physical barriers that may interfere with their return to civil society.

Veteran Programs & Services

Housing Services

Office building
Through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing Program, FAME is proud to announce its first-ever housing complex dedicated entirely to the needs of supporting our veteran’s community. Intended for qualifying Section 8 veterans, the complex is part of FAME’s Eugene Thomas Manor property. The building features eleven units and is just the first phase of a multi-phase transformation intended for this community. The property will also feature a special focus on community living, with a shared kitchen and living room/community area in order for those living on-site to enjoy the mutual support of their peers, as well as take advantage of on-site meetings, programs, as well as additional resources FAME plans to offer in the near future. Applications are currently being accepted for available units. For a limited time, FAME will be offering a move-in special to help transition our veterans towards fully independent self-sufficient living.

Health & Wellness Programs

Office building
FAME is proud to announce a new partnership with US Vets in Long Beach to provide nutrition education and obesity prevention programming to our veterans community. The program, slated to launch later this fall, will start with a focus on healthy beverages with the California Department of Public Health’s Rethink Your Drink program. Rethink Your Drink will help educate veterans about identifying drinks with added sugar, educating them about healthier affordable drink options, and understanding the link between the consumption of sugar-sweetened drinks and health risks. In addition to the educational resources, FAME will introduce spa water stations (fruit infused water) to encourage healthy hydration. Later in the year, FAME will also be introducing more comprehensive nutrition education classes that will focus on nutrition basics, balanced diet, affordable healthy meal preparation and food demonstrations, and the importance of physical activity.
